In Iowa, most all hunting seasons, including deer, turkey, and other game birds, occur in the fall and early winter. There are longer seasons for cottontail rabbit, crow, and for beaver trapping. Coyotes and groundhogs may be hunted year-round. Season dates and game species restrictions may change from year to year, so be sure to check the DNR's website for updated information before you go.
